However, after clicking you realize these sites keep redirecting and redirecting until you get frustrated and click close. In summary, you are discouraged to continue with your search. This has happened to me several times and I almost gave up on trying to download Nigerian movies online. But that didn’t last long as I absolutely love Nollywood. So I started looking out for best-recommended websites for Nigerian movies download and fortunately I found some.
What is Nollywood
Nollywood is the term used to address the Nigerian movie industry. Nollywood has experienced a steady growth and is currently the 2nd highest movie producing industry in the world. While Nollywood movies aren’t perfect, they have come a long way from where they started. There has also been a significant rise in the number of people looking to watch Nigerian movies, download Nigerian movies, stream Nigerian movies online, watch Nigerian movies online etc especially since the advent of the internet. The rise in the number of people searching for the best places to download Nigerian movies etc keeps increasing yearly.
Truth be told, with a 9-5, stressful economy and lack of constant electricity, Nollywood lovers have found it difficult to watch their favourite Nigerian movies/ TV shows at home. So they’ve resorted to downloading from the internet.
As an avid movie lover and a Nollywood fan, I’ve also searched a lot for the perfect places for Nigerian movies download and found the best sites for Nigerian movies download. So I decided to share them with you.
Apps to download the latest Nigerian movies
A lot of users constantly search for apps to download the latest Nigerian movies. Some of the best apps to download Nigerian films are IrokoTv App, Sugaban Tv app, Ibaka Tv app and Youtube Go.
IROKOTV
Iroko Tv is Undoubtedly the number one online platform for Nigerian movies download. Iroko TV is my favourite place to download Nigerian movies. Its the user interface is easy, they have current and interesting movies. If you don’t mind paying their subscription fee which is just N3000 and which in my opinion is worth it because it’s a one-time subscription. You pay and have access to all their movies for the next year. You can download the Iroko TV app on Android or iOS.
YOUTUBE
YouTube is one of my favourite places on the web. There are so many amazing contents on YouTube. And you can find Nigerian movies to download on YouTube. The only issue is YouTube doesn’t allow you to save videos to your phone directly. You can save in-app though. But a smart way to use YouTube is to use a third-party downloading site like savefromnet. I find this to be way better than downloading in-app. Also when using savefromnet, you can either increase or reduce the quality to suit your taste.
When downloading Nigerian movies through YouTube, you have to be careful as a lot of the movies are wrongly titled. What I do to verify authenticity, is to watch some part of the clip or read the comments of others to see if it’s really the movie or something else before I proceed to download via savefromnet.
NOLLYLAND
Nollyland is one of Nigeria’s foremost online movie download/streaming platform. They have a large collection of Nigerian movies, Ghanaian movies and African movies. So this platform is perfect for those looking to download African movies, download Ghanaian movies and download Nigerian movies.
However, I have an issue with their payment method. Their subscription fees are in dollars not Naira or any other African currency and I just feel this makes it difficult.
As one has to turn to rate converters to know how much their subscription actually costs in Naira.
Nigerian Movies Download via LINDA IKEJI TV
Linda Ikeji Tv is a fast-rising Nigerian movies and TV shows platform. It is owned by blogger and media mogul Linda Ikeji. You can find various Nigerian movies, reality shows and TV series to download on Linda Ikeji’s TV. The subscription fee is 10,000 Naira annually and 1000 Naira monthly. IBAKA TV
Ibaka TV is similar to Iroko TV. They are both online platforms for Nigerian movies download and streaming. Ibaka TV boasts of latest Nollywood movies as well. My only con is that just like Nollyland, it’s subscription fee is in dollars.
NAIJAPALS
Naijapals is a Nigerian website where you can download Nigerian movies for free. You can also find the latest Nigerian music and updates on Naijapals.
REAL NOLLY TV
Real Nolly TV has been around for a long time. It’s a web-based platform. Real Nolly TV offers both free and premium movies. I love Real Nolly because their site is easy to navigate and you can find a lot of movies easily.
NIGERIAN MOVIES
Nigerian Movies is an online movie platform that allows you to download Nigerian movies in HD for free. They have a large collection of Igbo, Yoruba and English Nigerian movies. Their site is easy to navigate and downloading movies is easy as well.
SHUGABAN TV
Shugaban is not a download platform as such. It is a Nigerian movie rental platform. You rent movies for a limited time and watch. After which it will be removed from your list. The good thing is Shugaban has a very easy to use interface and they have the latest Nigerian movies.
