Oprah Winfrey: living a life of substance.

LIVING A LIFE OF SUBSTANCE

while delivering a commencement speech at a college, the media mogul and one of the most influential people in the world said:

“You’re nothing if you’re not the truth,” Winfrey, 63, said to the crowd. “I’ve made a living, I’ve made a life – I’ve made a fortune, really – all good! – from being true to myself. If I can leave you with any message today: The biggest reward is not financial benefits, though it’s really good, you can get a lot of great shoes!, Those of you who have a lot of shoes know having a closet full of shoes doesn’t fill up your life. Living a life of substance can. Substance through your service”.

We all sleep and wake up everyday yet some of us just exists without actually living.  Living means more than just being alive. To truly live, you have to live for more than just yourself.

What is living to you? 

1. Having a lot of money?
2. Being the most beautiful girl on earth
3. Carrying a lot of women
4. Having the flashiest cars, shoes, bags. Etc
5. Having a body built/shape “to die for “.

As much as some of these things may have some value, most of them are not worth it.  Money cannot buy you everything, money can’t buy happiness.

Sooner or later,  age will catch up with you and that shape will lose its form.

The most beautiful girl in the world won’t always be the most beautiful because someone else will eventually come out.

Flashy cars and bags are very beautiful but they won’t last forever.

What are you moving from one lady to the other searching for? Is it sexual contentment? What is sexual contentment without happiness and love.

Living for me is loving and lending a helping hand to others to help them live.  Man cannot exist without others, not even a recluse can. We all need each other, so learn from Oprah and live a life of substance and purpose.
